    In ancient times, this Stryx caused havoc wherever he went, bringing huge lightning storms black as the night itself aiding his destruction. This Stryx had no real name but had come to adopt the name, Symforá also known as, Calamity. The mountain range Calamity ruled over was at constant threat of total destruction. No one could figure a way to beat the beast as his power over lighting struck down all that attempted. All hope was considered lost, until a dragon known as Cesem appeared. The two battled atop the tallest mountain in the region that lasted days before Cesem began to succumb to his wounds. As a last-ditch effort, Cesem unleashed a spell on the Stryx that locked him away as a stone statue, taking away all his storm powers in the process. 
    The villagers rejoiced and after the dragon fell, they built a statue in his honor on the same mountaintop. The statue was said to be blessed with the power to look over the land as well as Symforá's statue and would come back to the valley's aid if the beast was ever released from his cold prison to attempt to destroy the land once again. Many years later, the Stryx was considered only a myth until a group of villagers attempting their yearly ritual climb arrived only to see Symforá's statue was shattered. A few days after the omen, there had been reports of recent pillaging of nearby villages. This began to instill much fear within the valley and once again, they prayed to their statue to save them once again.
    However, what they don't know is Calamity is within the company of a small horned Stryx as well as a young rider who has learned to control the beast using the power of a magical stone. Calamity dispises the rider and will take every chance he can to kill him but he underestimates the young lad and is outsmarted every time. After the first twenty times, Calamity has learned to at least tolerate his presence and has decided to use him to gain the powers he lost with his battle with Cesem. All he can do is bide his time until he can unleash his revenge on the land once again.
